Tipping in Italy

Tip is not expected on top of restaurant bills but you can leave a little extra if you were pleased with the service. As a general guideline, you should consider leaving a 10% tip, but this is not obligatory.

Tipping taxi and car drivers is unusual but you can consider it if they help you with your luggage.

Tipping hotel porters is appreciated and expected at top-end hotels.
